The AVIO® active teaching method since 1992

Cécile AVIO, with a wealth of experience of many years of study (30 years), analysis, reflection, exchanges, listening and sharing with disabled people (all disabilities combined) with educators, physiotherapists, psychomotor therapists, doctors, has set up a working method that has proven effective and recognized by its results (thanks to countless testimonies). This with a very specific goal: to promote the inclusion and autonomy of the disabled person (whoever they are) through dance movement.

Every human being has their difference. In the field of disability it is the same thing; it is difficult to say that there is only one way to make people with the same disability dance; it is not possible as the wealth of difference exists; but with the support of a solid educational base and based on a key word: "adaptation", dance is accessible to all people with disabilities.

The workshops and courses are run specifically and exclusively using this method developed by Cécile AVIO, as well as with the collaboration of medical professionals and disabled people themselves.

The AVIO® method is now registered and recognized. It has proven itself through the various Dance courses conducted to date, with disabled people, specialized Structures, educators and various National Associations.

This method is considered a revolutionary and innovative approach in the field of pedagogy and psychology to be adopted according to each disabled person.

The work and research of Cécile AVIO allow the different people trained to find tracks, paths, "entry doors" that lead to the execution of the movement for each person. To best satisfy all disabled dancers, to value them, to harmonize as Human Beings above all and Dancers, to develop their potential by refining their sensitivity to themselves and to what surrounds them. This method gives everyone the opportunity to explore their "habits" for themselves and to discover new possibilities by promoting the autonomy of the disabled person.

The AVIO® method allows different people with disabilities to evolve with a tremendous desire to dance with their disability(ies) but represented as a difference quite simply; this in order to erase the barriers of ignorance of disability and to allow them to show their talent.

"After all, what is more beautiful than the EXPRESSION OF MYSELF, of EXISTING because I am and my body is my instrument of spreading "happiness"" This method is used, at the same time, by the staff of specialized structures and medical environment, animators, choreographers & dance teachers of all options throughout France and internationally.

Sometimes routines and work habits need to be challenged after the Training, which is why it is essential that a close relationship continues between the people trained and the Federation.
